Like 150,000 other worker-bees, I take BART to work in San Francisco. On Transit is a record of things I’ve seen and heard in the process.

The blog is mostly a means of staying sane in a small place, of focusing on what’s different day-to-day in a routine I’ve had for years. But I also believe that there’s something more to public transit than the Point A to Point B. I am not qualified to write on city planning; I am too self-conscious for language like “the shared urban experience.” So I creep on my fellow passengers a little bit instead.

A sampling of my favorite BART moments, for starters:

If you’ve got a good public-transit story, I’d love to hear it.

Hey, good-lookin’.
